Long-Term Replacement Special Education Mathematics Teacher
The Secaucus Board of Education invites qualified and interested individuals to apply for the Long-Term Replacement Special Education Mathematics Teacher position. Desired qualifications and requirements include a bachelor's degree from a 4-year accredited college/university, possession of a valid certificate as a Teacher of the Handicapped or Students with Disabilities in the State of New Jersey, and a New Jersey Department of Education Teacher of Mathematics or Middle School with Subject Matter Specialization in Math 5-8 Standard Certificate or Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standings (CEAS) or Certificate of Eligibility (CE).
Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position is also required.
Basic functions and responsibilities include planning a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students, evaluating student progress on a regular basis and preparing progress reports, instructing students in citizenship, basic communication skills, and other general elements of the course of study common to all teachers, providing individual, small, and/or large group instruction, supervising out-of-classroom activities for students, planning and coordinating the work of aides, teacher assistants, and other paraprofessionals, identifying students' needs and cooperating with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve health, attitude, and learning problems, communicating with parents and staff members on the individual student's progress and development, maintaining basic attendance accounting and business service as required, developing and participating in the sponsorship of student activities and faculty committees, acting as a resource person on an interdepartmental level to relate appropriate aspects of his/her subject area to other subject areas, and working to establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and their parents concerning the academic and behavioral progress of all assigned students.

Salary and employment salary range:
Current starting salary range $62,600 -$70,110 as per the SEA Contract Employment period:
October 8, 2026 February 16, 2027
