Position Overview
The Safety Coordinator serves as the designated safety representative of the assigned Dream Fulfillment Center (DFC), coordinating and implementing all areas of Rent the Runway’s Safety Program as directed by the Sr. Manager of EHS. You will influence behavior and inspire commitment among all personnel in complying with Rent the Runway’s safety standards and maintaining a safe work environment. This includes conducting training, coaching associates, and performing audits and risk assessments to support continuous improvement.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Identify and inform management of compliance issues, safety risks, and improvement opportunities through daily, weekly, and monthly audits.
- Lead and participate in investigations of workplace incidents involving equipment and employees, as well as fleet safety investigations.
- Conduct risk assessments related to jobs performed (Job Hazard Analysis) and new equipment introductions, recommending mitigation measures to management.
- Ensure compliance with all Rent the Runway Safety Program expectations and applicable federal, state, and local law.
- Maintain required paperwork to comply with Rent the Runway’s standards.
- Facilitate immediate aid for associates, visitors, vendors, or guests in need of assistance or medical attention.
- Maintain accurate daily, weekly, and monthly metrics for reporting to onsite management teams.
- Document safety incident information in Rent the Runway’s OSHA 300 log and 300a in a timely manner.
- Perform safety observations and audits.
- Train and assist operations staff to comply with safety responsibilities.
- Perform specific safety training as required by the company.
- Conduct monthly facility inspections and document findings.
- Partner with the security team to ensure awareness of safety policies.
- Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental, Ergonomics, or a related field.
- 1+ year of growing responsibilities in safety and/or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, security, or service operations.
- Experience maintaining confidentiality in personnel matters.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations applicable to Rent the Runway’s industry.
- Calm demeanor in emergency situations.
- Flexibility regarding shifts as safety incidents can occur at any time.
- Computer skills relevant to reviewing security footage and creating documents and incident logs.
- Proficiency with Google Suite, Google Sheets, Looker, and Jira.
- Strong written and verbal communication; bilingual in Spanish is highly preferred.
- Enforce safety, cleanliness, and security standards.
- Ability to quickly recognize, diagnose, and solve challenges for associates in partnership with leadership.
- Sense of urgency and attention to detail.
- Alignment with the company’s core values to ensure a world‑class customer experience.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
- First Aid, AED, or CPR certification.
- Distribution Center or Manufacturing Safety experience at a site with at least 500 employees is a plus.
- OSHA Outreach Instructor (OSHA 30/10) certification is a plus.

The anticipated base range for this position is $19.00 to $25.00 per hour, commensurate with qualifications and experience. This role requires onsite presence five days per week at our Secaucus, NJ facility.
