About the Role
The Senior Staff Electrical Engineer will provide technical leadership across cloud compute server systems and PCB boards, including add‑on cards, front panels, and IO backplane products. The engineer will make decisions on specifications, design, BOM, PCB materials qualification, validation, and production support.
What You’ll Do- Lead cross‑functional teams to develop system‑level architectures and board‑level implementations from early concept through production launch.
- Prepare specifications, BOM, design, and schematic entry, and supervise junior engineers and external suppliers.
- Set layout guidelines for PCBs and supervise Layout Engineers to meet physical and electrical requirements.
- Analyze designs with simulation tools and perform calculations to verify conformance.
- Lead and mentor layout, system bring‑up, and debug teams.
- Collaborate with suppliers, contractors, and principal design engineers to deliver products on time and with high quality.
- Specify production test methods and limits.
- Balance cost, performance, quality, and schedule while supervising international and domestic engineering teams.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 12+ years of experience in design and debugging of computer‑related PCB boards.
- Skilled in analog and digital design, high‑speed bus interface design, and high‑speed PCB layout.
- Strong ability to debug high‑speed designs and address signal integrity issues.
- Knowledge of power distribution techniques and x86 processor system architecture.
- Experience implementing high‑speed serial buses (SAS/SATA, PCIe, USB) and/or high‑speed parallel buses (DDR2/3) and CPU front‑side bus.
- Proficiency in feature and cost trade‑off analysis.
- Capability to create specifications and design guides.
- Strong leadership, presentation, and verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to promote cooperation and commitment within a team to achieve goals and deliverables.
Base salary range: $116,250 to $193,750 per year, determined individually based on experience, skills, and qualifications. Additional rewards may include bonus, paid time off, generous 401(k) match, tuition reimbursement, well‑being resources, and more.
