About the Role
The Manufacturing Quality Engineer provides oversight and guidance in manufacturing operations, coaching personnel on compliance, identifying and escalating quality issues, and ensuring quality products.
Responsibilities- Participate in new product design reviews during the development stage and document key design changes to support successful manufacturing implementation.
- Collaborate with the primary engineering owner for all Design for Manufacturing (DFM) reviews.
- Review server samples and bill‑of‑materials (BOM) verification.
- Create work instructions and deliver regular training to the production team.
- Review and approve manufacturing‑related documentation, including server assembly manuals.
- Assist with the development and implementation of manufacturing test plans.
- Assist with the design of fixtures, tooling, and test equipment for manufacturing.
- Participate in LEAN initiatives and engage Six Sigma tools for process improvements.
- Establish assembly line yield targets, measure, and track improvements.
- Participate in assembly line investigations related to internal audits, customer audits, and ISO audits.
- Collaborate with QC Test and Repair teams to identify root cause for systemic repeat test failures.
- Bachelor’s Degree in industrial engineering, electrical engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- At least 2 years of professional experience in a hardware manufacturing environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with quality audit techniques, ISO 9001, and AQL inspection sampling.
- Proven team‑building skills and experience working cross‑functionally to achieve results.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to manage multiple projects or assignments simultaneously.
- Strong problem‑solving skills, quickly identifying relevant facts and key issues.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment.
The typical base salary for this position ranges from $75,750 to $110,000 per year. Compensation may also include a performance‑based bonus, 401(k) match, tuition reimbursement, wellness resources, and additional perks.
