About The Role
The Production Test Engineering Technician supports production test, failure analysis, and repair activities to achieve quality targets and on‑time delivery of systems according to the overall production schedule. They provide first‑level support to the production team and act as a liaison with the Engineering and Mfg Test Development teams, working closely with cross‑functional production and management teams to meet and exceed customer expectations.
Responsibilities- Mfg Test Validation
- Validate Mfg Test on production HW
- Drive feedback loop and process improvement
- Create failure summary reports
- Identify HW failures vs. test‑process induced failures (false fails)
- Work with System Engineering and Diagnostic teams to close all open test issues
- NPI HW Test
- Primary owner of NPI products in test
- Manage execution of the test process
- Provide daily updates of test status vs. shipping plan
- Drive all open test issues to closure
- Provide risk analysis and possible workarounds
- Transition test/repair processes for NPI SKUs to Production Test/Repair team
- System Test
- Become SME for all execution of Mfg Test system updates and verification
- Execute system test scripts and process
- Conduct system failure analysis and repair; create failure summary reports, sort by priority, and drive issues to closure
- Troubleshoot system errors for corrective actions
- Identify false failures caused by the test process
- Provide feedback to manufacturing for process improvement
- Sustaining Support
- Provide ongoing support and training for test and repair of MP products
- Issue resolution: manage/escalate issues impacting systems in test and communicate to peer technicians, Engineering Test Eng Manager
- Continuous Improvement / 5S Support
- Work with extended teams to identify and execute process improvement actions: peer technicians/engineers, leads/supervisors/managers, engineering
Outstanding verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills; ability to prioritize workload and multi‑task; possess a high level of integrity and strong work ethic; ability to work across engineering and production teams; ability to communicate issues verbally and in writing to all levels of employees.
Education & Experience- High school diploma or higher in a related discipline and/or equivalent related work experience.
- Associate’s degree in IT or a related discipline is beneficial but not required.
- CompTIA A+ or Network+ certifications are beneficial but not required.
- Configuration experience of Microsoft OS (VISTA/WIN7/Server) and Office suite, and basic Linux.
- Experience with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, and Word).
- 1 year PC system related hardware debug or networking experience preferred.
The typical base salary for this position is expected to be around $28.50/hr base salary is one component of ZT Systems’ total rewards philosophy.
