Outpatient Office Coordinator

Job Specific Competencies

• Responsible for accurately organizing the office operations for Outpatient Clinic, Meadowlands Cardiology PC and Employee Health.

• Greet patients and visitors in a courteous and friendly manner.
• Coordinate care throughout patient visit (lab, ekg, radiology)
• Maintains ability to quickly assess and respond appropriately to emergency situations.
• Answer phone calls courteously, and take clear and concise phone messages
• Monitors and responds to all emails throughout the day regarding incoming patient referrals
• Organize surgical dates, schedule and confirm appointments daily
• Accurately register all patients including insurance verification
• Obtain Letters of Protection (LOP’s) from attorneys when necessary
• Create new patient consent packets and charts
• Prepare charts/transportation list for the next day
• Maintain order and deliver charts to medical records timely
• Type correspondence, reports, memos, and forms as requested by physicians
• Send fax requests for outside records

• H.S.Diploma, college degree in related field preferred.
• Previous experience in a hospital setting in the Registration/Admission Department preferred.

• Excellent computer skills
• Knowledge of Insurance and Insurance Verification Process
• Knowledge of EMR, Care Vue, Medi Tech
