The Senior Security Specialist manages Applications Analysts assigned to the security workgroup, understands Epic’s security infrastructure, and provisions security for users. The role focuses on security design, governance and compliance to ensure proper access control and application integrity.
Position notes: This position is hybrid (3 days in office & 2 days WFH). It can be based in Secaucus, NJ;
Nooristown, PA;
Schaumburg, IL;
Tampa, FL; or Addison, TX.

- Provision application security levels and roles
- Establish ownership of each security class
- Coordinate security template and role updates and establish a security change control process
- Coordinate security related activity across infrastructure (network, servers, OS) and application (Epic or non‑Epic) teams
- Work with application and compliance teams to design system level access
- Create user records and map them to templates built by application analysts
- Create appropriate shared security classification with no specific application ownership
- Create and maintain procedures to activate, deactivate, and update user records
- Collaborate with the IAM development team to implement and manage access within the Quest standard automated systems to control user access, ensure compliance, and reduce security risks
- Work with the PAM team to secure critical, high‑level access by managing privileged accounts within the Quest PAM solution
- Understand Epic software security structures, including user profiles, roles and security classes
- Conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting of security configurations and permissions
- Collaborate with Epic to implement new projects, such as a new module
- Manage upgrades of assigned application with Epic by setting timelines, maintaining continuous communication, and addressing issues with urgency
- Build relationships with end users and provide timely and consistent support
- Communicate problem status and solutions to end users
- Provide subject matter expertise in Epic security best practices and access control frameworks
- Support audit readiness and documentation for regulatory compliance
Provide on‑call support outside of regular business hours when needed.
Qualifications EducationBachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Technology.
Required Experience- 2–3 years of experience working with Epic systems in security analysis or related field
- Proven experience in Epic security design and configuration
- Strong understanding of security governance, compliance and auditing processes
Experience in healthcare security management - Active Epic Security Certification
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Active Epic Certifications
