Performance Test Engineer

Create comprehensive performance test plans which ensure all important performance capabilities of the system under test are assessed. Interact with business and development resources to identify correct workloads and performance Service Level Agreements (SLA’s). Create and maintain performance / stress / capacity / resiliency / load test scripts for multiple projects. Troubleshoot test environment issues; ensuring the test environments are operational before any tests are executed.

Execute performance / stress / capacity / resiliency / load tests as needed.

Provide detailed test reports to support accurate evaluations of systems under test prior to release to production. Leverage application monitoring tools to support testing; examples would be AppD, Splunk, Tivoli and BMC. Review logs and monitoring of disk I/O, CPU and memory for any performance-related issues. Report performance-related defects to Delivery teams; work with these teams to support further debugging and root-cause analysis.

Create test runbooks. Design and maintain test simulators at the network level for packets testing (e.g. Quote Plant).

Periodically review workloads and SLAs with business and development partners to ensure alignment with current production levels. Periodically conduct peer-reviews of application performance test results ensuring (a) accuracy, (b) clarity, and (c) completeness.

Requirements: 2-5 years of performance software testing experience 2-5 years of using performance testing tools (e.g. Performance Center, Jmeter, Gatling) Demonstrates a solid understanding of software development life cycles Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving/decision making skills

2+ years’ experience in Windows, LINUX, UNIX, JAVA, Web Services, SQL Server, Oracle 2+ years’ experience scripting in Unix/Linux Proven ability to work effectively in a team setting as well as independently with minimal error and guidance Strong verbal and written communication skills

This position will work remote day to day but preferred if they near a Client office for planning meetings. Please indicate the candidates location and if they would require sponsorship to convert to FTE.
