Currently, we seek a Sr. Category Manager – Real Estate & Facilities.
For assigned categories in the Real Estate & Facilities portfolio, the successful candidate will develop, champion, and ensure implementation of ideas & strategies that will optimize total cost of ownership year‑over‑year.
This position manages the strategic category management and sourcing activities for Facilities Management and Maintenance Outsourcing Program, various construction, architecture and other facilities management programs. In addition, the position will manage strategic category management and sourcing activities for the Enterprise. The successful candidate will be required to achieve significant initial cost reductions and value‑added services profit/earnings contribution, while maintaining/improving product quality and supplier service levels.
This successful candidate will work closely and inclusively with key stakeholders to develop effective cost reduction strategies and implementation plans. The Category Manager's primary responsibility is to utilize the strategic sourcing best practices to capture real savings while making effective supply base decisions. This includes direct savings captured through consolidating company‑wide purchasing volume and applying operational and commercial TCO levers to reduce cost and managing contracts with suppliers.
This professional will work in a hybrid capacity requiring 3 days onsite at our Secaucus, NJ location.
Responsibilities- Develop, champion, and ensure implementation of ideas & strategies that will optimize total cost of ownership year‑over‑year for assigned categories.
- Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans for assigned categories.
- Fully understand and have deep knowledge of the global landscape of assigned categories in terms of supplier base, technologies, competitive environment, total available market value (TAM), market trends and cost impactors.
- Perform category spend analytics across the Quest Diagnostics enterprise.
- Track forecasted vs. actual savings and performance indicators for assigned category and communicate results/performance against these measures and any potential budgetary impact.
- Influence internal operational and other stakeholders regarding their procurement requirements, ensuring those requirements are included in the category strategy.
- Develop strategic roadmaps with suppliers in support of company's future business needs, manage the Supplier Business Engagement Model, and ensure open supplier communications to leverage supplier capabilities.
- Structure and influence make‑vs‑buy‑vs‑outsource decisions.
