Customs Entry Writer
Secaucus, NJ Area | Up to $30/Hour + Benefits
An established international logistics and Customs brokerage organization is hiring an experienced Customs Entry Writer for an immediate full-time opportunity in the Secaucus, New Jersey area.
This is a hands‑on, onsite role for someone who can independently process U.S. Customs entries, manage FDA and other Partner Government Agency requirements, and move shipments accurately through final release.
What You’ll Be Doing- Prepare and process U.S. Customs import entries
- Review commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and supporting documentation
- Enter shipment, classification, and government-agency information into the brokerage system
- Process FDA and other Partner Government Agency requirements
- Research HTS classifications and product codes when information is missing
- Monitor Customs, FDA, and carrier release status
- Identify and correct entry, census, documentation, and bill of lading errors
- Coordinate shipment holds and releases with clients, carriers, and internal teams
- 3+ years of direct Customs entry writing or Customs brokerage experience
- Hands‑on experience personally preparing or transmitting U.S. import entries
- FDA and Partner Government Agency processing experience
- Working knowledge of HTS classification and Customs clearance procedures
- Ability to manage a consistent entry volume while maintaining accuracy
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and urgency
- Experience with Customs brokerage systems;
