The Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA) is seeking a dynamic, progressive candidate as an MVA Assistant Branch Manager II, with a focus on delivering premier customer service with innovative ideas and solutions.
The MVA Assistant Branch Manager II - Field Operations is responsible for assisting the MVA Branch Manager in the management of complex transportation operations. This position is a member of the MVA leadership team and requires a results-oriented individual who can foster a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities- Assisting the Branch Manager in planning, leading, directing, organization, and overseeing assigned branch operations, audits, compliance, and premier customer service
- Working with employees to solve problems for customers
- Plans, assigns, schedules, and evaluates the work of subordinate supervisors, driver license agents, customer agents, maintenance, and support staff
- Acting as a change agent within the MVA
- Developing workflow efficiencies
- Working in a union environment
- Excellent critical thinking skills
- Experience managing and adjusting the staffing levels of large teams to fit business needs
- Excellent people skills and customer service experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to give input and implement changes to policy and procedure
- Desire to act as a public servant, providing premier customer service
- Three or more years of leadership experience, preferably in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment
- Two (2) years of experience working in the State or Federal Government

Preferred QualificationsEducation:
Possession of an Associate of Arts degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience:
Three (3) years of experience supervising the operations of a retail-banking branch; the operations of an independent unit of a larger retail organization; or the operations of a subordinate section within a non-profit or governmental transportation or regulatory organization.
OR
Three (3) years of experience supervising the operations of a subordinate section or unit that includes the processing of drivers' licenses, vehicle titles/registration, insurance compliance or other related function.
Notes:
Employees in this classification will be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
