Jewelry And Accessory Retail Buyer

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Jewelry and Accessory Retail Buyer to manage product selection and purchasing for our retail business. The Retail Buyer will identify products that align with customer demand, negotiate with vendors, manage inventory levels, and support sales and profitability goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Research market trends, customer preferences, and competitive products.
• Select and purchase merchandise based on sales trends, customer demand, and company strategy.
• Identify and evaluate new products, brands, and suppliers.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, minimum orders, and delivery schedules.
• Analyze sales reports, inventory levels, margins, and product performance.
• Develop and manage product assortments and seasonal buying plans.
• Forecast product demand and place purchase orders accordingly.
• Monitor inventory to minimize overstock, stockouts, and excess markdowns.
• Coordinate with merchandising, marketing, sales, and operations teams.
• Track purchase orders and ensure products are delivered accurately and on time.
• Review product performance and make recommendations for reorders, promotions, or discontinuations.
• Stay current on industry trends and emerging brands or products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Fashion Merchandising, Marketing, or previous retail buying, merchandising, purchasing, or related experience.
• Strong negotiation and vendor-management skills.
• Excellent analytical and decision-making abilities.
• Strong understanding of retail sales, margins, inventory, and product trends.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and inventory/purchasing systems.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

The ideal candidate combines strong business judgment with an understanding of customer preferences and market trends. They are analytical, organized, commercially minded, and confident negotiating with vendors while building long-term supplier relationships.

The range of compensation for this role is $80,000- $100,000. The actual salary will be determined by several factors, including the selected candidate's specific skills and experience.

This position is based in our Secaucus office 5 days a week.
