Class A Delivery Driver

Overview

CORT Tradeshow and Events is hiring immediately for Class A CDL drivers in Secaucus, NJ. The delivery driver works collaboratively as part of the Operations team and will be responsible for loading, delivering, and installing furniture at tradeshow and event venues.

$28 per hour, depending on experience.

Schedule will vary based on the needs of the business; weekends are required.

• Inspect furniture to ensure acceptable condition and load trucks safely to protect products from damage.
• Attend pre‑delivery meetings to review logistics and client expectations.
• Complete pre‑ and post‑trip truck inspections and clean and prep trucks for future shifts.
• Complete all required written documentation; operate an electronic logging device correctly.
• Drive tractor‑trailers, box trucks, or sprinter vans on delivery routes in a safe and lawful manner.
• Install and assemble furniture at venues based on floor plans or client instructions; ensure accuracy, alignment, and aesthetic presentation.
• Perform pick‑ups, inspecting for damage and ensuring no product is left behind.
• Provide onsite customer service and address client questions or concerns.
• Supervise temporary labor during deliveries and pickups.
• Perform warehouse duties as needed (manually load/unload, organize, unbox & clean products).
• Other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 21 years of age or older.
• Valid and current Class A driver’s license in the state of residency.
• A minimum of 3 months professional experience driving a tractor‑trailer; 1 year preferred.
• Physically able and willing to move furniture indoors, outdoors, up or down stairs and in all weather conditions; ability to lift 100+ pounds with a partner.
• Ability to comply with FMCSA regulations.
• Driver must read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the public, understand traffic signs and signals, and complete logs and reports.
• Maintain a valid DOT Medical Evaluator Certificate, including passing a physical and drug screening.
• Pass a road test based on FMCSA/CORT requirements.
• Acceptable MVR per CORT’s Safe Driving Standards.
