Overview
AIT is seeking a Dispatcher II
. Start time flexible, with optional extra hours on weekends if applicable.
The Dispatcher II is responsible for overseeing and documenting the pickup and delivery of local shipments, as well as coordinating and communicating shipment information between drivers and delivery agents.
Responsibilities- Routing local freight, dispatching drivers, performing dock checks, tracking shipments, and working with dock staff members to ensure movement of freight.
- Timely event data entry of shipment milestones into MyAIT & AS400 tracking system – pickup, delivery, obtain proof of delivery.
- Providing customer service to identify and meet specific customer needs; answering and making customer inquiry calls, addressing concerns and complaints.
- Assigning driver load planning based on local mapping and appointments.
- Identifying and coordinating the prioritization of rushed/urgent/last‑minute shipments.
- Other duties and responsibilities will be assigned as business demands deem necessary.
- The wage range for this position is $27.40–$38.70 and may vary based on geography and relative knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience.

- High School Diploma/GED equivalency required;
Associate Degree or equivalent preferred. - 3–5 years in freight forwarding industry experience preferred, and/or experience in customer service/operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Previous experience working with AS400 preferred.
- Strong problem‑solving and multi‑tasking skills with the ability to develop innovative solutions.
- High attention to detail and organization.
- Strong geographic and mapping skills; sense of direction and coordination to build routes.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with customers, drivers, and coworkers.
