Position: Adjunct Instructor - Computer Networking On-Ground
Overview:
State Fair Community College is seeking an Adjunct Instructor in Computer Networking and Cyber Security. Openings are available for both online and on-ground classes at our Sedalia, Missouri campus. The ideal candidate will be passionate about educating students in the latest industry trends and technologies while fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment.

Essential Duties:

* Teach assigned courses in computer network configuration, cybersecurity, and server management.

* Develop and deliver engaging course content that encourages critical thinking and problem-solving.

* Provide constructive feedback on student projects and assignments.

* Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and participation.

* Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and advancements in network administration, cybersecurity, cloud computing, etc. and incorporate relevant information into the curriculum.

* Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress ensuring confidentiality of student records.

* Submit attendance and grade reporting according to due dates established by the institution and communicated through SFCC email.

* Maintain timely communication with students.

* Engage in all required professional development.

* Collaborate with department faculty on curriculum updates and instructional best practices as needed.

* Other duties as deemed necessary for the function of the college.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

* Associate's degree in Computer Information Systems, Web Development, Computer Science, or a closely related field required.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer and Network Administration or a highly related field.

* Experience in network configuration and management, cybersecurity practices, server administration, and/or cloud computing.

* Experience with network protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and various operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc.)

* Industry certifications (e.x., CompTIA, AWS, Microsoft, Cisco).

* A minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in the computer information systems industry.

* Prior teaching experience at the post-secondary level.

* Demonstrated ability to create engaging and interactive instructional materials.

* Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

* Completed applications will include cover letter, resume, three contact references, and unofficial transcripts (official transcripts must be requested upon hire). Employment will require a criminal background check at college expense. Preference is given to Missouri residents.
