Work Study, Theatre Shop Hire

State Fair Community College is an accessible, learning-centered institution, enriching its students and community by providing skills, knowledge and perspectives essential for a changing world.

* Assists in maintaining the scene shop, prop shop and/or costume shop

* Assists with the production of plays in the area of lighting, props, costuming, and scenery

* Comfortable with tools, climbing ladders, getting dirty, physical work

* Follow and enforce all safety protocols in the theatre scene, props, and/or costume shop

* Take direction from the Technical Director/Theatre Faculty and collaborate with fellow workers

This role ensures that scenic or costume designs are created safely, on schedule, and within budget, while also providing a crucial educational environment for students to build essential skillsets.

* High school diploma or equivalent

* Excellent verbal and written skills, with a positive demeanor

* Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working in fast-paced environments

This position is a part of the Federal Work-Study program. To qualify, you must be a State Fair Community College student enrolled in the current semester and eligible for Financial Aid through the Federal Work-Study program.

The theatre shop hire position is to bridge the gap between artistic vision and practical execution for the theatre productions, which positively represents the college for both recruiting students to the college as well as the community as a whole.
