Position Overview

Accountable to the North American I&C Regional Quality Manager, the Sedalia Quality Manager is responsible for Prysmian’s aluminum building wire operations within North America, overseeing Low Volt building wire for industrial and commercial building wire.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a team of operational quality technicians, providing coaching, performance management, and technical guidance to ensure high standards of daily quality execution.
  • Assure that all products conform to applicable specifications and quality levels established by Prysmian and the customer.
  • Develop and implement quality control standards, processes, and controls.
  • Direct the implementation and maintenance of the quality system.
  • Lead and implement quality process audits, continuously evaluating and improving audit programs to support operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead and implement system audits involving all parts of Sedalia’s QMS.
  • Lead and implement product audits to ensure products meet governing standards and customer expectations.
  • Review and approve plans and methods for inspection, testing, sampling, and training.
  • Evaluate production capabilities through quality KPIs and drive corrective and preventive actions with proven verification and validation.
  • Recommend and implement improvements wherever necessary.
  • Lead the quality culture across the plant by promoting quality awareness, accountability, and continuous improvement at all levels.
  • Interact with customers on product, application, and technical nuances of the plant’s product offerings.
  • Collaborate with North America HQ personnel for periodic information exchanges.
  • Engage with the Sedalia team to support product quality and customer service.
  • Frequently walk the production floor, interacting with employees, driving process and product improvements, and building alignment.
  • Provide effective communication to internal and external customers on quality matters.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Strong understanding of ASTM, UL, ICEA, and other applicable industry standards relevant to low voltage building wire and cable products.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong leadership skills with proven ability to lead and develop teams and foster a robust quality culture.
  • Experience problem solving and engaging with customers, vendors, and end users.
  • Proficiency with quality tools for analysis and problem solving.
  • Metro logical knowledge.
  • Proficient in understanding and maintaining ISO
    9001 and knowledge of auditing methodologies, validation protocols, design verification and validation, risk assessment, and mitigation processes.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (engineering degree preferred) or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing in a manufacturing facility.
  • Preference for candidates with mechanical engineering and/or metallurgy background.
  • Ability to understand the technical needs of customers and communicate effectively.
  • Internal nonconformities management experience.
  • Competent computer skills and familiarity with software applications.
  • Wire and cable experience a plus.
  • Six Sigma certification a plus.
  • ASQ certification a plus.
