Davey Coach Sales is the nation‑wide leader in van and bus sales. We have an immediate opening for an Entry‑level Shuttle Bus Technician in our ever‑growing office. This position is designed as a hands‑on training role within a dealership environment, providing exposure to mechanical repairs, welding, parts operations, and service writing. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety‑focused, and willing to learn multiple aspects of dealership operations.

- Analyze, diagnose, and evaluate damaged vehicles to determine repair or service needs and potential replacement of parts.
- Responsible for the maintenance of shop vehicles.
- Responsible for assisting other Technicians on the diagnosis of difficult or abnormal repairs or services.
- Accurately estimate costs for repairs, maintenance and service required.
- Perform basic and minor repairs as required – brake and hydraulic, exhaust, engine and transmission, fuel ignition, electrical, suspension and alignment, restraints and airbags, air conditioning and computer systems.
- Inspects and tests all mechanical repairs to meet manufacturers’ specifications. Road test vehicles when required.
- Communicate with production team to keep all vehicles on schedule for on‑time delivery.
- Support welding and fabrication tasks as needed (training provided)
In addition to the mechanical and technical support, additional training will be provided in the following areas to understand dealership operations:
Parts Department Training- Learn parts identification, ordering, receiving, and inventory processes
- Assist with pulling, stocking, and organizing parts
- Work closely with technicians to ensure accurate parts availability for repairs
- Assist with creating and updating repair orders
- Learn basic service documentation, customer communication, and warranty procedures
- Support service advisors with job tracking and work‑order accuracy
- Graduate of an automotive, diesel, or related technical/trade school (or nearing completion)
- Basic personal tools
- Basic mechanical knowledge and familiarity with hand and power tools
- Willingness to learn multiple roles within a dealership environment
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and positive attitude
- Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team setting
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Basic welding experience or coursework
- Exposure to diesel, commercial vehicles, or transit equipment
- Internship or hands‑on shop experience
- Ability to stand, bend, lift, and work on vehicles for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance
- Comfortable working in a shop environment
