PositionSummary
The Material Handler loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near plant, yard, or work site, performing any clerical duties related to shipping, receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing and delivering a variety of materials, equipment and supplies.

Position Responsibilities- Count, weigh or measure incoming or outgoing items to compare identifying information and variety against bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records; examine incoming shipments for damage or shortages and correspond with shipper to rectify; complete paperwork or forms required for documentation.
- Determine method of shipment using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes and rates; prepare materials for shipping by weighing, packaging and stamping; prepare necessary shipping forms such as bills of lading.
- Provide on‑the‑job training to lower level employees and resolve problems using knowledge of shipping/receiving/materials handling.
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks or dollies to move stock or reorganize storage.
- Participate in routing, counting and inspecting items while loading and unloading trucks; deliver and return items.
- Transport high‑technology, high‑dollar‑cost equipment and supplies to customers; secure cargo properly and safely.
- Fill orders and issue materials and supplies per requests.
- Participate in ordering or purchasing standard stock items within established procedures and limits.
- One year of shipping/receiving experience or an equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.
- Technical competence (understand software, hardware, networks, etc).
- Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
- US work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work‑authorized visa.
- Candidate must also pass a state and federal criminal history/security background check and pre‑employment drug screen.
