Superintendent- Sedro-Woolley, WA

The Sedro-Woolley School District Board of Directors invites applications for the position of Superintendent.

SEDRO-WOOLLEY SCHOOL DISTRICT seeks a qualified, highly visible, collaborative leader to work closely with the board, students, staff, families, and community to ensure success for every Sedro-Woolley student. Experience with district level leadership responsibilities, preferably as superintendent, and familiarity with superintendent expectations within Washington State’s public school system is also desired. Seek candidates who manage district operations effectively, build unity and trust, and demonstrate commitment to serving all students.

• Master’s Degree
• Current WA State Superintendent Certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Prior successful experience as a school administrator
• A demonstrated history of responsive and transparent customer service as a leader
• Highly visible leader/present in schools and the community
• Experience partnering with community members and local organizations in support of public education
• Effective problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
• Awareness of recent state legislation for public schools and corresponding local impacts
• Exceptional leadership and management skills
• Strong interpersonal skills, including transparent and respectful interactions with students, staff, families, and community members
• Demonstrated exemplary communication skills in listening, speaking, and writing
• Commitment to modeling high standards of professional and ethical behaviours at all times and operating consistently with integrity and transparency

• Successful experience as a superintendent
• District level administrative experience in PK-12 education
• Classroom teaching experience
• Doctoral Degree (PhD or EdD) or in process to obtain
• Experience working closely with a Board of Directors
• Experience in collaborative negotiations with unions

Residency within school district boundaries is preferred.
