Overview
Janicki Industries is an innovative, family-owned aerospace company located at the foot of the Cascades. We focus on engineering and manufacturing complex projects for companies in the aerospace, defense, and space industries. We are looking for a Quality Engineer to join our growing team. This position is located on-site in Sedro-Woolley, Washington State.
Roles & Responsibilities- Develops, promotes, and executes quality standards, inspection processes, test methodology, quality plans, documents, and reports
- Creates advancements in current quality engineering practices
- Coordinates day to day activities of quality engineering and inspector staff in support of production
- Retrieves, reviews, and analyzes QA data for driving continuous improvement initiatives
- Performs statistical data analysis and identifies quality improvement opportunities
- Performs evidence-based root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Monitors the application of improvement initiatives
- Works with process & program owners to prepare, analyze and improve quality metrics for management & program reviews
- Reviews new or modified documents, procedures, diagrams, and/or flow charts, to determine if they will perform according to user request and conform to contractual, AS9100 or QMS requirements
- Participates in contract reviews; document and disseminate information gleaned to pertinent parties
- Researches best practices to impact quality improvement initiatives and utilization standards
- Identifies and recommends procedures and workflow improvements. Works with others to develop and streamline workflow
- Collects, and assists with, developing and analyzing quality measurement data
- Provides training to enable employees to meet consistent quality standards
- Participates in internal, regulatory and customer audits
- Participates and/or leads appropriate project work
- Performs inspection activities as needed, using common hand tools, drawings, CAD models, etc. These may be receiving, in-process, source, or final
- MUST work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Due to ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3)
- This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). Janicki will assist with gaining this access once employed. Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position and require candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or another technical field required. Minimum requirement for all positions is a high school diploma or GED
- Manufacturing experience, including experience in composite fabrication with practical application of quality assurance a plus
- Commercial/military aerospace experience is preferred
- Must have demonstrated excellent communication skills
- Must have strong computer skills including QA applications, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases
- Salary range for this role is between $83,000 - $145,000, plus discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts. The range provided is Janicki’s estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities
