Forklift Operator

General Job Description

Dogwood Industries is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Forklift Operator for our Factory in Sedro-Woolley. The core mission is to facilitate the safe and efficient receipt and storage of materials used in the manufacturing processes including large structural steel members and finished products ranging from 1,000 lbs to 30,000 lbs.

• Unload materials from incoming trucks
• Move and unload materials throughout the factory
• General shipping and receiving duties, storage, and yard cleanliness
• Other duties as assigned

• 2+ years’ experience as a forklift operator, ideally in an industrial setting moving heavy materials
• Ability to read and write English
• Knowledge of various material handling equipment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• High school diploma or equivalent

The position requires full range of mobility in the upper and lower body, ability to reach overhead, work in various positions including stooping, standing, bending, sitting, kneeling, squatting; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance for extended periods; lift, pull, and push material and equipment; lift 70 pounds. The employee will be exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, fumes, and odors and must work some time outside in inclement weather.

$28.00 - $36.00 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.
