Sedron Technologies is hiring a talented Quality Engineer in Sedro-Woolley, WA!

Sedron is a leading provider of circular waste management technologies for agricultural manure and municipal biosolids processing, deploying facilities across several North American regions. Since its founding in 2014, Sedron has pioneered innovative solutions, including the patented Varcor® system, to transform waste into clean water, organic fertilizer, and carbon-negative commodities. With strong engineering expertise, Sedron’s processes reduce nutrient pollution, lower operational expenses, and promote sustainability at a fraction of traditional costs.

The Quality Engineer reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and is accountable for establishing, maintaining, and continuously improving the quality systems and inspection processes that govern Sedron’s manufacturing operations. This role partners closely with manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain teams to ensure that fabricated assemblies, components, and finished systems meet design specifications, applicable codes, and customer requirements.

The Quality Engineer owns the development and execution of inspection plans, non-conformance processes, and corrective action programs, and plays a hands‑on role in driving root cause analysis and resolution across the manufacturing floor. This position also provides direct oversight of quality technicians and inspectors, setting standards for inspection rigor, documentation accuracy, and safety compliance throughout the production lifecycle.

Because we design, build, commission, and operate our technologies, we are looking for individuals who can meet the following essential functions of the position:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality management system (QMS) documentation including procedures, work instructions, inspection plans, and forms in alignment with applicable standards and Sedron requirements.
  • Define and enforce inspection and test criteria for raw materials, in-process assemblies, and finished goods to ensure conformance to design drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Conduct and coordinate internal audits to assess QMS effectiveness and compliance; track findings to closure and report results to management.
  • Maintain calibration records and ensure measuring and test equipment is controlled, traceable, and fit for purpose.
  • Own the non‑conforming material (NCM) process, including identification, segregation, disposition, and documentation of defective or out‑of‑spec parts and assemblies.
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) investigations using structured methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5‑Why, Fishbone) and drive corrective and preventive action (CAPA) to closure.
  • Analyze quality data and trends to identify systemic issues and prioritize improvement initiatives; report key quality metrics to manufacturing leadership on a regular cadence.
  • Partner with manufacturing engineers and production managers to review and approve process changes, first articles, and design-to-build transitions that affect product quality.
  • Develop and execute first article inspection (FAI) and incoming inspection protocols for new parts, materials, and supplier qualifications.
  • Support weld quality oversight in coordination with the Certified Weld Inspector, ensuring weld procedures, qualifications, and inspection records meet applicable codes (e.g., AWS, ASME).
  • Participate in design reviews and engineering change order (ECO) evaluations to assess quality risk and ensure manufacturability and inspection feasibility.
  • Uphold and enforce all applicable safety policies and procedures on the manufacturing floor; model safety‑first behavior and intervene on unsafe conditions or practices.
  • Ensure quality records, inspection reports, and traceability documentation are maintained accurately and in compliance with regulatory, contractual, and internal requirements.
  • Support supplier quality development activities, including supplier audits and performance reviews, as directed.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing efforts across the production environment.
  • Assist with customer or third‑party audits and…
