About the Position
Unloads donations from containers and moves goods to appropriate production areas. Work occurs outdoors and in a warehouse environment; temperature varies and exposure to dust is possible.
- Remove and sort through salvage material and garbage from salable goods.
- Sort donations into appropriate bins for further processing.
- Provide a smooth flow of goods to the production floor.
- Use cardboard compactors and identify problems.
- Maintain donor tallies.
- Maintain a clean work environment.
- Demonstrate safe work practices, report hazards or accidents.
- Build and maintain internal and external customer satisfaction.
- Consistently and safely execute forklift duties when certified to Seattle Goodwill standards (if applicable).
- Minors are not allowed to use heavy machinery or compactors.
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, including with individuals who have limited English skills.

Education and Experience- High school graduate or equivalency (preferred but not required).
- Applicant must be 18 years or older.
Seattle Goodwill Forklift certification is optional; eligibility requirements must be met.
Physical AbilitiesThe employee will be required to lift and carry up to 30‑40 pounds and may stand for long periods, bend, kneel, reach, stoop, squat, push, climb ladders, and travel across varied surfaces.
