Location: Learning, Leadership and Innovation
Reports To: Chief Academic Officer
Pay Grade: Professional/Tech (3)
Primary PurposeTo promote quality in instruction and provide leadership in planning, developing, monitoring, implementing, and evaluating the district's English/Language Arts & Early Literacy program.
Education/Certification- Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) with an emphasis in English and/or Reading
- Valid teaching certificate
- Demonstrated knowledge, understanding, and skill in English/Reading/Writing
- Demonstrated interest in English/Reading/Writing education
- Strong communication skills both written and oral
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Effective organizational skills
- Ability to conduct model/demonstration lessons
- Ability to work cooperatively and productively with para-professionals, professional peers, administrators, and supervisory staff
- Proficient computer skills including but not limited to word processing, spreadsheets, and databanks
- Minimum of five (5) years experience in an English/Reading classroom
