Reading/Lang. Arts Coordinator (6-12)

Position Type: Learning Leadership and Innovation/ELAR District Coordinator

Location: Learning, Leadership and Innovation

Reports To: Chief Academic Officer

Pay Grade: Professional/Tech (3)

To promote quality in instruction and provide leadership in planning, developing, monitoring, implementing, and evaluating the district's English/Language Arts & Early Literacy program.

• Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) with an emphasis in English and/or Reading
• Valid teaching certificate

• Demonstrated knowledge, understanding, and skill in English/Reading/Writing
• Demonstrated interest in English/Reading/Writing education
• Strong communication skills both written and oral
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Effective organizational skills
• Ability to conduct model/demonstration lessons
• Ability to work cooperatively and productively with para-professionals, professional peers, administrators, and supervisory staff
• Proficient computer skills including but not limited to word processing, spreadsheets, and databanks

• Minimum of five (5) years experience in an English/Reading classroom
