PRIMARY PURPOSE:

The CTE Teacher for Law and Public Safety will plan, develop, and implement an instructional program for students enrolled in the Law and Public Service career cluster. The teacher will provide engaging,

rigorous, and industry-aligned instruction that prepares students for postsecondary education, workforce readiness, and industry certification. The position requires ongoing collaboration with district

staff, students, parents, and community partners to support student achievement and career preparation. The teacher is expected participate in CTSO's Career Technical Student Organizations

opportunities and CTE practicums

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification:

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (preferred) in an appropriate field related to the teaching assignment.
• Valid Texas Career and Technical Education certificate with required license, endorsements, and

training for subject and level assigned, or related training and work experience for certification

waivers under the District of Innovation Plan (DOI).

• Valid Law or Public Safety industry license or certification appropriate to assignment.
• Required compliance training completed as assigned by the district.
• Minimum of 2 years of wage-earning work experience within the last 10 years in law

enforcement, public safety, or a related field, consistent with Texas CTE expectations.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, parents, and staff. related training and

work

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree.
• Experience with curriculum development, student organizations, or career preparation

programs, to include practicum and dual credit.
