* IPSD-Seguin, TX has an exciting opportunity for a driven and analytical  
** Quality Engineer
** to support engine assembly. In this role, you will lead technical analysis and continuous improvement of quality control processes driving efficiency, cost, performance, and product quality. You will collaborate cross-functionally to ensure enterprise quality standards, internal factory quality, and customer delivered quality. This position offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on operational excellence and the delivery of high-performance diesel engines to our customers.

* What You Will Do:

*
* - Identify and assist with implementation of improvements to assembly processes to reduce defects, reduce downtime, and improve overall product quality

- Monitor quality processes, diagnose issues, and lead troubleshooting efforts to restore and maintain factory quality

- Provide hands-on investigations to determine root cause and provide short-term and long-term corrective actions

- Collaborate and support the Small Business Team to communicate emerging issues and drive corrective action on existing issues

- Conduct and maintain control plan creation and maintenance in addition to PFMEA reviews to identify risks, drive preventive actions, and ensure process robustness

- Participate in and help adopt Caterpillar's Safety Driven strategy and culture

- Investigate and resolve internal and external quality defects in diesel engine assembly, using root cause analysis and corrective actions

- Review reports and data for review with cross functional teams including manufacturing engineering, test engineering, and factory operations

- Present to leadership opportunities for improvement and current issue actions for found defects in the factory and at the customer

- Collaborate closely with other Quality department team members to ensure replication of improvements are adopted and cross training/knowledge sharing can take place

- Coach and support production and technical teams to strengthen problem-solving capabilities and drive operational excellence

** Knowledge of Quality Management System's (QMS) functions, features, and capabilities; ability to design, implement, test, and maintain Quality Management Systems to consistently meet customer requirements and regulatory compliances.

Utilization of the 5-Why technique, fish bone diagram and other RCCA methodologies

- Time Management:

- Tools:

Experience with common hand measurement tools such as calipers and depth gages

Working knowledge of reading CMM reports and a basic understanding of GD&T

Experience with Power BI and understanding of statistical process controls
