Responsible for the safe, efficient, and customer‑focused operation of aquatic facilities, including staff supervision, daily operations, and safety compliance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES- Responsible for all operational aspects of the aquatics program, including public safety oversight, pool maintenance, and chemicals
. - Follow and enforce all policies, procedures, and rules at all times.
- Communicate effectively by providing information, guidance, and directions to patrons, participants, and team members to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Maintain, inventory, and care for City property and equipment
. - Keep management informed of materials and supplies needed to conduct programs and pool operations.
- Demonstrate cooperative and professional behavior with team members, supervisors, and the public.
- Oversee daily chemical and sanitation tasks including daily water testing, adding chemicals as needed, backwashing filters, maintaining clean pool areas and equipment, ensuring health‑code compliance, managing chemical inventory, and handling hazardous materials safely.
- Clean and maintain public areas during operating hours.
- Attend mandatory in‑service training, as required, to maintain certification.
- Supervise lifeguard staff and ensure all active aquatic zones are adequately staffed with alert, attentive guards at all times.
- Complete all required reports accurately and in a timely manner, including— but not limited to—injury, accident, rescue, and audit reports.
- Supervise concession operations, including oversight of cashiers, completion of cash audits and end‑of‑shift reports, and providing assistance to cashiers as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required.
Must be at least 18 years of age
.
Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
Must be able to swim.
ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAININGMust possess a high school diploma or G.E.D. or have received a diploma or G.E.D. no later than June.
One year of lifeguard experience is preferred.
Supervisory experience preferred but not required.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIREDMust successfully complete (or recertify)
lifeguard certification training
