- - Responsibilities:
Train in all areas of the Melt Shop including Furnace, Ladle Furnace, Casting Machine, and Refractories;
Install and repair refractories in steel vessels (furnaces, ladles, and tundishes);
Inspect slide gate system hardware and refractories;
Inspect furnace for problems and wear, and change parts as directed;
Operate mobile equipment such as forklifts and overhead cranes;
Interpret operational procedures and work instructions; complete equipment inspection reports each shift;
Participate in safety programs and uphold safety culture;
Perform daily housekeeping and maintain work area;
Understand start-up, shutdown, and emergency procedures;
Assist with other duties as assigned
