Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring equipment uptime through timely, in-depth troubleshooting and repair.

Key responsibilities include:

• Repair and troubleshoot all production equipment (injection molders, blow molders, fillers/cappers, labelers, case packers, conveyors, palletizers, stretch wrappers).
• Repair facilities and auxiliary equipment (chillers, air compressors, Reverse Osmosis, water filtration).
• Work directly with machine operators, supervisors, preventative maintenance mechanics and senior maintenance technicians to resolve mechanical issues during shifts.
• Propose solutions to complex and recurring problems to senior mechanics and management.
• Document repairs, complete work order paperwork, and record parts and material usage.
• Maintain industrial control systems and ensure compliance with plant safety rules.
• May fill in for production operator as needed.

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems using schematics, technical drawings, and testing equipment.
• Modify, lubricate, diagnose, and operate equipment per Niagara’s defined processes.
• Work independently and with team members to complete repairs safely and timely.
• Maintain attendance to ensure equipment and facility uptime.
• Use personal protective equipment where required.

• 4 years of experience in a field or similar maintenance environment.
• 4 years of experience in a maintenance position.
• 4 years of experience managing people/projects.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and resolve issues across multiple departments.
• Basic experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics.
• Skilled in using shop equipment such as hydraulic and mechanical presses, bench grinder, drill press, mill and lathe, and assorted power tools.
• Proficient with precision measuring equipment (calipers, dial indicators, bore gauges, depth gauges).
• Willingness to be a technical leader and trainer within a specific plant or machine center.
• Own toolbox and basic tools.

• 6 years of experience in a field or similar manufacturing environment.
• 6 years of experience in the maintenance position.
