- Develop general knowledge of all rolling mill systems to recognize offset conditions and implement corrective actions.
- Direct bundling operations to ensure correct bundle piece counts, tie numbers, and positions.
- Obtain information concerning order specifications, rolling sequences, piece counts, product length, and bundling perimeters.
- Make minor adjustments to bundling sequence, including tie setting, backs, and surge table positions.
- Become proficient with all equipment and tools (crane rigging, torch, grinder, pneumatic tools, hand tools, and mill operation systems such as QMOS, OWS).
- Demonstrate dependability in attendance, work completion, and flexibility to meet business needs.
- Troubleshoot work-related problems using job knowledge, experience, and communication with others.
- Participate in CMC safety programs and uphold the safety culture.
- Work safely to prevent injuries by following safety rules and wearing PPE.
- Understand start-up, shutdown, and emergency procedures.
- Minimum one year of field experience in heavy industrial operations or manufacturing.
- Steel industry experience preferred.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for duration of shift; frequent physical activity such as walking, climbing stairs, or reaching with equipment.
- Ability to work with exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, dust, fumes, uneven surfaces, loud noise, elevated work areas, and confined spaces.
- Team player in a fast-paced environment with strong work ethic, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
- Must be able to work a 12-hour shift, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong communication skills; must read, speak, and understand English.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred.
