Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L engines that not only power Caterpillar machines, but also power over 5000 other applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. We are seeking a Product Control Manager position. This person will build, enhance, and maintain manufacturing process instructions, changes, and releases in factory MES. Manages the team responsible for tracking product and process changes, process analytics, process work instructions, and production order releasing.

• Collaborating with manufacturing and product engineers to provide timely release and implementation of new engines, major product updates and miscellaneous changes.
• Establishing priorities and coordinating efforts of the change control team responsible for processing product changes, establishing manufacturing effective dates, creating process instructions, and alignment of production order releasing activities.
• Manage team of 3-5 employees in the US and India.
• Manage deliverables and budget of offsite contract resources.
• Providing specialized expertise and consultation to several product change control groups regarding release practices.
• Ensuring adherence to Caterpillar and Industry standards and processes including ODS/CDSA cycle time calculations, Engineering Change Management, New Product Introduction,
• Assisting in Virtual Build and Model Review processes.
• Interfacing with other facility and legacy ERP/MES systems (CAPP+, SAP, etc.) in addition to our own (PLEX, MAMM, EOMP).

Knowledge of the processes and procedures by which a change is identified, evaluated, approved, monitored and documented; ability to manage changes in the production environment and processes effectively.

• Identifies major phases and activities associated with a manufacturing cycle.
• Obtains and interprets high-level manufacturing flow and documentation.

• Seeks help to modify priorities as new information surfaces or conditions change.
• Demonstrates the ability to estimate the time and resources required to complete tasks.
• Identifies own key assignments, schedules, and process steps.
• Applies the concept of 'critical path' in order to complete work in a timely manner and keep larger tasks on track.
