Job Requirements (ICU RN / Critical Care Nurse)- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience (Critical Care Nurse experience preferred)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
- NIHSS certification
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification negotiable; may be obtained onsite if available during contract
- Ability and willingness to float to Medical, Surgical, IPRU, or ER units as needed
- Strong independence, clinical judgment, and critical care skills (ventilator management, drip administration)
- Provide high-quality, evidence-based care to critically ill patients in a 9-bed ICU (Critical Care Nurse responsibilities)
- Manage patient ratios typically 1:2; may be 1:1 or 1:3 depending on acuity and census
- Care for post-cath lab, cardiac, respiratory, and medical ICU patients
- Administer vasoactive drips and manage ventilators (Avea ventilator experience helpful)
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team: hospitalists, intensivists, respiratory therapists, and ancillary staff
- Float to other units (Medical, Surgical, IPRU, ER) as required by patient needs
- Complete documentation using Medi Tech Expanse and manage medications with Pyxis
- Participate in department orientation, ongoing training, and mandated competencies
