Healthcare Nursing, LPN/LVN, Mental Health Nurse
Under the direction of the Director of Nursing, the Nurse Manager, and the Regional Center Director, the LVN provides support for psychiatric and primary care services in an integrated outpatient clinic, and demonstrates a positive attitude, a caring spirit and ability to work within an integrated multidisciplinary team.
The LVN supports the prescribing Physicians and NP’s, is responsible for obtaining vital signs, weight, height, BMI, recording information in the electronic medical record, and staging medication consents, rooming patients and assisting with medical procedures. The LVN is responsible for refilling medications, assisting with phone calls, office, and clinic flow, and obtaining medication authorizations to ensure no lapse in prescriptions.
The LVN will also provide education on nutrition, medications, diagnosis, and other health related concerns, giving injections, performing venipuncture, administering urine drug screens, pregnancy tests, and other point of care testing in the clinic.
In addition, the LVN will assist in the coordination of the delivery of clinical and nursing care for primary care and behavioral health services and will perform responsible nursing work in the assigned locations and is responsible for the care and treatment of individuals in accordance with accepted professional, legal and ethical nursing standards.
The person chosen for this position is responsible for adhering to all agency policies and procedures and reporting to work Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, and may also support other clinics in times of need due to staffing shortages.
CompensationHourly Salary Range: $22.72 – $25.47
- Up to $1.00/hour for previous experience in a similar role
- $1.00/hour for tenure with BTCS
- .75/hour for bilingual experience

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
- Graduated from an accredited school of nursing and licensed as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the state of Texas.
- Ability to work collaboratively and be part of a multidisciplinary integrated behavioral health and primary care professional team.
- Computer literate with working knowledge of Windows/MS office applications.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Must have and hold a valid Texas Driver’s License and maintain approved driving record throughout employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in psychiatric settings, with individuals with developmental disabilities, substance use disorders and or primary care needs.
- Bilingual in Spanish.
