Sun‑Rype Products (USA), Inc. is seeking a Production Inventory Planner/Buyer.
Pay Range
: $26–$32 per hour
The Production Inventory Planner/Buyer is responsible for monitoring inventory levels of critical production materials, purchasing packaging materials and ingredients, creating and communicating daily and weekly production plans, meeting with vendors to secure raw fruit, and maintaining a wide knowledge of their products, prices, and availability.
Responsibilities- Creating, monitoring, and communicating daily and weekly production plans that meet customer expectations and efficiently utilize manufacturing resources.
- Working closely with business teams to ensure all parties are aware of production status and that planning and execution objectives are integrated and communicated.
- Analyzing and scheduling packaging department labor.
- Analyzing requests for large‑scale maintenance/repairs to determine validity of downtime versus schedule so that customer demands are always met.
- Managing packaging material inventories to ensure adequate supply for production.
- Working with the corporate procurement team to purchase raw materials and packaging to ensure efficient and cost‑effective supply.
- Preparing production reports and participating in meetings as required.
- Procuring fruit for processing.
- Creating purchase orders for secured fruit loads.
- Travel required to visit growers.
- Ensure materials and ingredients are purchased from vendors approved in a manner consistent with company SQF, HACCP, and food safety policies.
- Ensure production planning is accomplished in a manner consistent with company SQF, HACCP, and food safety policies.
- Physical Requirements:
Must be able to work in hot, humid and/or cold conditions; stand, bend, crawl, kneel, reach above shoulders, climb ladders, and crawl in tight and awkward workplaces for long periods of time. - Education:
Bachelor’s degree in business; professional designation such as APICS preferred. - Experience:
5–7 years in a food or beverage manufacturing environment; 2–3 years in production planning and/or procurement. - Special
Skills:
Excellent communication skills; superb organizational skills and attention to detail; strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with MRP/ERP systems. - Behavioral Attributes:
Problem‑solving, statistical, and analytical skills; demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement; motivated, focused, and accountable for results. - Licensure:
Valid Washington Driver’s License; reliable transportation to commute to multiple grower sites. - External Relationships:
Vendors/Sales Representatives, Fruit Growers/Packing Houses. - Internal Relationships:
Must interact and communicate effectively with all employees of the organization. - Reports:
No direct or indirect reports. - Back‑up:
This position will be backed up by the Customer & Procurement Manager in the event of an absence.
