The Preschool Lead Teacher at the Kids Cottage Children's Learning Center
- Grant Campus is a SCC Association position and as such, salary and benefits for the position are determined according to the Association salary and benefits package.
The Preschool Lead Teacher reports to the Director of the Kids Cottage Children's Learning Center.
Job Description:
* Plan, supervise, and implement the Children's Learning Center program in accordance with professional standards and the policies and philosophy of the Center under direction of the Director.
* Structure the program to the needs, interests, individual styles and rates of learning of the individual children.
* Coordinate the intern program with the Early Childhood advisor; participate in the training and evaluation of student teachers.
* Assist in the supervision and evaluation of the Assistant Teachers, and part-time teaching staff.
* Maintain the appearance and learning environment of the classroom.
* Assist the Director in describing the program to visitors and parents and with public relations events sponsored by the Center.
* Maintain a positive liaison with the parents of the children.
* Monitor conditions to ensure the children's safety at all times; acquaint children with safety rules.
* Monitor the daily attendance of the children, including individual arrival and departure times.
* Monitor the daily CACFP meal count.
* Assist children with age appropriate personal needs as necessary.
* Practice universal precautions at all times.
* Attend staff meetings and training program, conferences and courses as required for licensing regulations, NAEYC Accreditation and Quality Stars NY.
* Assist with the opening and closing of the Center as needed based on work schedule.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field and two years of Early Childhood Education work experience in a NYS Licensed Early Child Care Center and NAEYC Accredited Center.
