Position: Community Partnership Lead for Early Childhood

Ivy Tech Community College, Sellersburg Campus, is seeking a Community Partnership Lead for Early Childhood Education to directly serve the program with strategic leadership of a community-wide coalition. This individual will play a critical role in supporting the growth and development of our Early Childhood program while building partnerships, leading collaborative initiatives, and engaging local organizations to identify and connect future Ivy Tech students with educational opportunities in Early Childhood Education.

This is a grant-funded position following a full-time,12-month contract through December 31, 2027, with no guarantee that the position will be or can be funded past that date. Ideal start time is ASAP. Salary Range: $50,000 - $55,000 (based on education and experience).

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with local early learning programs to create a pipeline for student enrollment in Early Childhood programs at Ivy Tech
  • Act as a liaison between Ivy Tech and community partners to ensure successful program implementation and continuous improvement
  • Lead and coordinate a community group focused on improving early childhood education in our area
  • Facilitate regular coalition meetings, work groups, and strategic planning sessions
  • Support childcare providers by organizing professional development opportunities
  • Collaborate with the Early Childhood Education Department Chair to align program goals and outcomes, including necessary documentation for grant outcomes and NAEYC accreditation
  • Work with the Department Chair to coordinate reporting and forms for grant payments
  • Support students in accessing and leveraging the T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood Indiana scholarship to complete the Ivy Tech Early Childhood Education degree pathways and, if aligned with their goals, transfer to a bachelor's degree program
  • Stay current with trends and best practices in early childhood education to ensure program excellence
  • Maintain compliance with state, federal, and accreditation standards for early childhood education programs
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and college-wide committees
  • Attend relevant department and campus meetings
  • Perform other duties aligned with the scope and purpose of this role
  • This position has the potential to teach Early Childhood Education courses at Ivy Tech Sellersburg. The candidate must be able to perform all instructional duties necessary to teach and facilitate student learning in assigned classes
Qualifications
  • Possesses an earned master’s or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution, in early childhood education, child development; or Possesses an earned master’s or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution with 18 graduate credit hours in courses closely related to early childhood education and development, with academic preparation appropriate to the course and /or specialty being taught; and Possesses one of the following:
    • Professional certification in the field;
    • Two years of directly related work experience in the field of early childhood - birth through age 8.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with educational institutions and community partners.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Preferred:
    Knowledge of apprenticeship programs, workforce development initiatives, and scholarship programs such as T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood Indiana.
  • Familiarity with NAEYC Higher Education Accreditation Standards and Competencies.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and supporting inclusive learning environments.
  • CDA Professional Development Specialist Credential (or willingness to obtain it).
