Adjunct Faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions hired each semester on an as-needed basis.
The adjunct faculty member will be responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided by the School.
Major Responsibilities- Instruction Deliver assigned classes using pedagogy and technology that best support student learning, and following college loading policy, course objectives, and program learning outcomes.
- Facilitate student achievement of expected program learning outcomes.
- Engage with students in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and leads to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College.
- Communicate with program chair to ensure the classroom and instructional laboratory environment are conducive to student learning and in adherence to federal, state, and college safety standards and practices.
- Maintain student records, attendance, grades, and other documentation as required.
- Use Learning Management System (e.g. Canvas) to facilitate teaching, learning, assessment, and communication.
- Communicate with program chair to develop and maintain curriculum and supporting course materials in keeping with and furtherance of course objectives and program learning outcomes.
- Ensures knowledge and implementation of emergency and safety procedures for classrooms, labs, and all learning environments.
- Ensure academic activities are planned to span the full time class, lab, and clinical are scheduled.
- Enrollment Management, Student Retention, and Student Success Monitor and document student performance throughout the semester, including use of technology for academic advising alerts; provide necessary interventions to include communication with students, and referrals to appropriate college resources.
- Professional Development Participate in professional development activities that may include scheduled training, time spent onsite in related business and industries, and self-study to advance instructional and technical skills as well as current knowledge within the field of study.
- Ensure completion of professional development required to maintain professional licensure.
- Meet all professional development requirements of program accreditor.
- Stay current in contemporary pedagogy, digital technology, and other technology related to teaching that best support student learning.
- Maintain strong working knowledge of current technologies appropriate to professional area of instruction.

- All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.
CNA Course Standard A qualified faculty member teaching the didactic portion of CNA Preparation meets all three of the following criteria:
Is a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse licensed and in good standing in the State of Indiana and Has a minimum of one year of licensed nursing experience, and Has completed Indiana Department of Health Train-the-Trainer, One of the following:
Completed the required state training session including adult learning theory OR Holds a current Workplace Specialist License granted by the Indiana Department of Education in any Health Science.
CNA Clinical (only) Standard A qualified faculty member teaching the lab or clinical portions of CNA Preparation meets both of the following criteria:
