Continued employment is contingent upon grant funding.

This is a non-tenure track position Non-Probationary Status cannot be obtained.

This position is posted in compliance with Alabama Code §16-22-15. It is the intent to place a current employee in this position.

In addition to adhering to the general guidelines as specified by the Faculty/Staff Handbook, the W.A.Y.S Project Director, Asst. Dean of Students, Dean of Students the President, and Alabama Community College System Board of Trustees, responsibilities will include the following:

* Design, market, and lead professional development sessions (e.g., Career Exploration Workshops, Career Bootcamps, Soft Skills/Professional Etiquette Workshops) focused on essential skills such as resume writing, interview techniques, networking, and digital branding.

* Plan, organize, and execute a comprehensive schedule of annual events, including Career Fairs connecting students with employers across high-demand sectors (healthcare, tech, manufacturing, etc.). Industry Tours to provide firsthand insight into workplace environments. Annual Pathways & Partners Series events featuring industry professionals and successful graduates. Job Shadowing events.

* Coordinate Internship and Apprenticeship Information Sessions to connect students with work-based learning opportunities.

* Provide one-on-one and group counseling to assist students in assessing strengths, identifying career goals, and creating actionable career development plans.

* Deliver personalized guidance and coaching tailored to individual students' chosen career paths and academic majors.

* Implement strategies to expand campus wide.

* Actively cultivate, formalize, and maintain robust partnerships with local employers to meet the grant outcome of establishing new employer partnerships.

* Coordinate quarterly industry engagement events (e.g., job shadowing days, mentor meetups.

* Formalize partnerships and co-host events with local economic developers and agencies to promote college programs and regional job opportunities.

* Develop, publish, and update a high-demand careers bulletin (digital and print) each semester.

* Execute targeted outreach campaigns to ensure broad awareness or career services among students, alumni, faculty, and industry leaders.

* Collect data and monitor progress against the four SMART goals and project outcomes to ensure accountability and inform program refinement.

* Job performance will be evaluated in accordance with college policy.

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in counseling, Education, Human Resources, or a related field.

* 3 years of experience in career services, workforce development, recruiting, or student success roles.

* Demonstrated experience in developing and managing employer relationships and partnerships.

* Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to coach students from diverse backgrounds effectively.

* Proficiency in using career assessment tools, job search platforms, and student tracking databases.

Preferred Qualifications

* An understanding of and a commitment to the philosophy and mission of the Alabama Community College System.

* Effective written and oral communication skills.

* Ability to organize and work independently.

* Effective interpersonal skills.
