Alabama Career Essentials (ACE) Lead Instructor
Responsibilities:
- Assist the instructional supervisor with learners’ intake and orientation.
- Administer assessment instruments and develop a plan of instruction.
- Organize, instruct, and supervise students both in-person and online classes.
- Teach math, reading, and the Alabama Career Essentials (ACE) curriculum and any supplemental activities.
- Extend learners’ knowledge and competency using technology.
- Create and select materials choosing teaching styles that address individual learning styles.
- Administer and submit surveys.
- Assist in developing, evaluating, and revising the ACE curriculum.
- Provide a respectful and supportive learning environment.
- Assist in the recruitment of students.
- Promote the ACE Program in the local area.
- Participate in professional development provided by the department.
- Administer assessment instruments.
- Submit weekly reports and monthly time sheets on time.
- Collect, maintain, and submit weekly attendance to the ACE Coordinator.
- Maintain a record for each learner.
- Generate monthly narrative on ACE Progress.
- Maintain high moral and ethical standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Workforce Development ACE Coordinator, the Assistant Dean of Instruction, the Dean of Instruction, and the President.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution.
- Classroom teaching experience.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree from a regionally accredited institution.
- An understanding of and a commitment to the philosophy and mission of the Alabama Community College System.
- Teaching experience at the K-12, Adult Education or Postsecondary level.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and various situations in a professional manner.
- Innovative, creative and effective teaching style.
