The New Model Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing new product development and launch activities from concept through production. This role supports engineering design, testing, validation, and implementation of new products while ensuring compliance with customer requirements, quality standards, and project timelines.
The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, experience in product development and manufacturing processes, and the ability to work cross‑functionally with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and customer teams.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Conduct testing, experimentation, and validation activities on new and existing product designs to evaluate functionality, performance, and manufacturability.
- Analyze engineering data and test results to support product development, design improvements, and cost optimization.
- Develop and launch new products, components, and systems while meeting customer requirements, quality standards, and production objectives.
- Coordinate prototype builds, pilot runs, and production launches to ensure successful implementation of new programs.
- Support engineering change management activities, including design revisions and process improvements.
- Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure products can be produced efficiently and consistently.
- Direct testing activities and evaluate results to verify products meet design specifications and performance requirements.
- Identify opportunities for product, process, and design improvements to enhance quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
- Assist with the development of technical drawings, specifications, process documentation, and engineering standards.
- Collaborate with suppliers, customers, quality, manufacturing, and engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Conduct research and evaluation of new technologies, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to product design, manufacturing efficiency, quality, and cost reduction.
This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but may lead project teams and coordinate activities across multiple departments.

Education and Experience- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field preferred.
- One to three years of engineering, product development, manufacturing, or project engineering experience preferred.
- Experience supporting new product launches, manufacturing processes, or automotive/industrial products is highly desirable.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prepare technical reports, engineering documentation, and presentations.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, management, and cross‑functional teams.
- Ability to present technical information clearly and professionally.
- Ability to apply engineering and statistical concepts to solve technical problems.
- Strong understanding of geometry, trigonometry, algebra, and engineering calculations.
- Ability to analyze data and interpret engineering test results.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to identify root causes and develop effective technical solutions.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, standards, and customer requirements.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with design software and engineering design tools.
- Experience using project management, data analysis, and product development software.
- Familiarity with ERP and manufacturing systems.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, reach, and use hands.
- Occasionally required to bend, kneel, crouch, or lift materials and equipment.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Combination of office, laboratory, and manufacturing floor environments.
- Occasional exposure to moving machinery, manufacturing equipment, airborne particles, and industrial conditions.
- Moderate noise levels typical of engineering and manufacturing environments.
- Appropriate personal protective equipment may be required in production.
