Job Overview
Alamo Group Ag Americas, LLC is recruiting an experienced Assembler for Selma, Alabama. Alamo Group Ag Americas, Inc., a member of the Alamo Group family of companies, is the leading North American manufacturer of rotary cutters, finishing mowers, landscape tools, and tractor‑mounted implements used in agriculture.
The company has operated in Selma, Alabama for over 70 years and its products are known for ruggedness and durability in challenging work environments.
The Assembler II is a key position that supports the company’s goals by assembling multiple types of high‑quality Bush Hog products. The role requires learning and becoming familiar with four of the five types of assembly lines (Single Spindle, Finish Mower, Multi‑Spindle, Flex‑Wing or Zero‑Turn Lines) and performing manual labor on different production lines as needed.
Assembler responsibilities include ensuring that products meet Bush Hog standards, working under immediate supervision, collaborating closely with colleagues, and operating hoist, dollies, and pallet jacks to move products and parts throughout the assembly line.

- Communicate with other departments to guarantee availability of required parts.
- Operate essential tools and equipment needed for product assembly.
- Ensure correct parts are used on each assembly line.
- Inspect products to guarantee safety and quality control.
- Examine work orders to identify special requests or changes in assembly.
- Maintain a clean and safe workplace during and after assembly.
- Identify problems with manufacturing or locate assembly defects when needed.
- Ensure quality control in all built subassembly parts.
- Assemble Bush Hog mower products.
- Interpret blueprints for each product.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Read assembly sales orders and build to specification.
- Perform standard measurements using geometric tools (tape measure).
- Basic math, writing, and reading skills.
- Be certified and able to operate a forklift.
- Minimum dexterity required to operate necessary assembly tools.
- Ability to work in different locations at various times of day.
- Operate under pressure.
- Lift, push or pull 35 pounds alone and up to 50 pounds with assistance.
- Stand and walk throughout the full shift.
- Frequent bending, stooping, and lifting.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Speak, hear, and see well to perform duties and communicate with team members.
- Assemble on three or more lines at any given time.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- At least 1 year’s experience as an Assembler I required.
Work in excess of 40 hours per week as needed to meet production schedules. Conditions include working in cramped spaces, standing approximately 10 hours per day, stooping and reaching constantly, and operating in a non‑climate‑controlled manufacturing plant.
