RN, RN Nurse, Surgical Assistant

Monday through Friday, 5 x 8 hour shifts or 4 x 10 hour shifts.

The Operating Room Nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in the anticipation and planning for the care of the patient in the operating room. As a member of the surgical team, the RN collaborates with Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, ORT’s, and other personnel to provide patient care in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, AORN, regulatory standards, physician orders, as well as hospital and surgical department policies and procedures.

• Ensuring availability of supplies and equipment.
• Maintaining timeliness of cases.
• Communicating with families regarding patient care.
• Updating physician preference cards.
• Scrubbing and assisting physicians during surgical procedures.

• Must have an active Alabama RN license.
• At least 4 years recent OR RN experience in a hospital setting.
• Experience in OR Circulator with Endoscopy is required; ENT/GYN experience is preferred.
• Must have ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications through the American Heart Association.
