Maintenance Journeyman Level I - Electrical/Instrumentation

Pay Rate: $3.95/ hr

Days: 7:00 am – 3:30 pm, Monday – Friday

Job Requirements
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Minimum high school graduate, GED, or equivalent work experience
  • Eligible for employment in the US
  • At least three (3) years of work experience in either instrumentation systems OR electrical systems
  • Must be willing to meet the following requirements:
    • Work in industrial conditions (warm/hot, dusty/dirty, near hazardous chemicals, noise, heavy machinery, elevated surfaces, confined spaces with proper safety training and protection)
    • Undergo technical online testing, interview, and a formal hands‑on assessment of skills
    • Undergo a drug screen for illicit use of drugs as a condition of employment
    • Undergo a job‑related health assessment as a condition of employment
    • Submit to periodic drug screens as a condition of employment
    • Work any shift and/or a rotating shift schedule
    • Work overtime on a regular basis with last‑minute notification
    • Work holidays and/or weekends on a regular basis
    • Wear required safety equipment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree or certification(s) in Industrial Maintenance or related disciplines within instrumentation/electrical
  • Relevant work experience in an industrial environment
The Job You Will Perform

This position will assist journeymen‑level Electrical/Instrumentation maintenance technicians in routine maintenance work and perform many duties independently. Our Global Manufacturing Training program provides paid hands‑on experiences and classroom instruction to prepare you for your next promotion.

Instrumentation Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot, configure, maintain PLC systems
  • Installation, calibration, troubleshooting of analog and SMART instruments and analytical equipment
  • Shop and field repair of final control elements such as pneumatic valves, electric valves, solenoid‑operated valves, and calibration of pneumatic and SMART valve positioners
  • Routine and regulatory calibration of field instruments for boilers and environmental systems
  • Troubleshoot and maintain pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Read and redline loop sheets, P&IDs
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams & electrical schematics
  • Understand and follow NFPA 70E regulations involving Arc Flash and Shock hazards
  • Other duties as assigned
Electrical Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot, install, repair AC and DC drive systems and stand‑alone process drives of various manufacturers
  • Troubleshoot, install, maintain various electrical components such as mechanical limit, proximity, photoelectric, speed and reflective switches
  • Reading and interpreting electrical schematics
  • Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on 480 V thru 13.8 kV power distribution switch gear
  • Understand and follow NFPA 70E regulations involving Arc Flash and Shock hazards
  • Other duties as assigned
