This role focuses on painting farming equipment parts in a dedicated spray booth using two-part polyurethane paint. You will work in a busy painting department where high-quality finishes and efficient throughput are essential. When not actively painting, you will support the department with labor-intensive tasks such as moving parts in and out of the booth and preparing equipment for painting. The position is ideal for someone with automotive or industrial/manufacturing painting experience who can step into the role and perform with minimal ramp-up time.
Responsibilities- Paint farming equipment parts using a spray paint gun in a 60-square-foot paint booth.
- Prepare equipment and parts prior to painting, including cleaning, masking, and proper positioning.
- Mix two-part polyurethane paint to the correct specifications and maintain spray equipment in good working order.
- Read and interpret work orders to understand job requirements, paint specifications, and production priorities.
- Fill out paint reports accurately to document work completed, materials used, and any quality issues.
- Perform blending and touch-up work to ensure consistent, high-quality finishes on all painted surfaces.
- Execute all aspects of prepping, priming, and painting, following established processes and quality standards.
- Maintain quality control throughout the painting process, inspecting finished parts and correcting defects as needed.
- Move parts and equipment in and out of the paint booth and around the shop, including periodic lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Use a forklift as needed to transport materials and components safely within the machine shop environment.
- Collaborate with a small team, including another painter, to meet production goals in the busiest department.
- Work scheduled first-shift hours and occasional overtime to support production demands.
- Hands-on experience using a spray paint gun in a booth environment.
- Practical experience with automotive painting or industrial/manufacturing painting, including finished parts.
- Ability to prepare equipment and parts for painting, including masking, cleaning, and proper surface prep.
- Ability to mix paint correctly and maintain spray equipment for consistent performance.
- Ability to blend and perform touch-up work to achieve uniform, high-quality finishes.
- Knowledge of all aspects of prepping, priming, and painting in a production environment.
- Ability to read and understand work orders to follow job specifications and instructions.
- Ability to complete paint reports accurately and consistently.
- Strong focus on maintaining quality control throughout the painting process.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs periodically as part of daily tasks.
- Comfort working with two-part polyurethane paint in a spray booth setting.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working in a machine shop or manufacturing environment.
- Previous work in a busy painting department with high throughput requirements.
- Experience operating a forklift to move parts and materials safely.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
- Willingness to perform labor-intensive tasks in addition to painting.
- Reliability and flexibility to work 1–2 hours of overtime when needed.

Standard hours run from approximately 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with an expectation of 1 to 2 hours of occasional overtime depending on production needs. You will work on a small team with one other painter in the busiest department, handling farming equipment parts and related components.
