Anchored within a 300+ bed regional medical center, the Assistant Nurse Manager Operating Room helps coordinate care across modern inpatient and ambulatory suites, PACU, pre‑op, and sterile processing. With 35,000+ surgical cases performed across the system annually throughout 15 ORs, the surgical services department plays a critical role in delivering complex, high‑acuity care. A rich case mix includes orthopedics, spine, neurosurgery, cardiovascular, general, GYN, urology, ENT, and trauma, guided by ERAS pathways and precision perioperative workflows.

The role supports safe throughput, accurate scheduling, OR utilization optimization, and seamless interdepartmental collaboration.

Reporting to the RN Manager of Perioperative Services
, the Assistant Nurse Manager Operating Room partners closely with a Perioperative Nurse Educator and Clinical Nurse Specialists to champion evidence‑based practice. Key accountabilities include:

  • Staffing and daily assignments
  • Coaching and mentoring
  • Policy and regulatory readiness
  • Surgeon/anesthesia collaboration to optimize block time and workflows
