QUALIFICATIONS:
* Master of Business Administration with 18 graduate hours in Computer Science or equivalent graduate degree in a highly related field
* Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Power Point
* A minimum of 6 hours in graduate statistics courses
* Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills
* Excellent interpersonal communication skills required
* Willing to consider candidates who are working towards hours in MIS or CSC or statistics
* Experience with online teaching and classroom technology preferred
REPORTS TO:
District Director of Business Instruction
CONTRACT TERM:
Nine (9) months
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Teach Business and Computer courses, primarily Computer Science and miscellaneous Business courses
* Prepare, administer, and grade assignments, and/or program assessment data
* Maintain a record of student attendance as required by the Mississippi Community College Board
* Submit grades, attendance, and outcomes according to the academic calendar
* Manage timely engagement, grading, and communication
* Participate in departmental meetings and committee assignments
* Complete 15 hours of professional development each year
* Ability to travel between campus locations
* Establish effective relationships with college administration, faculty, staff, and students.
* Adhere to school policy as set in the Policy and Procedures Manual
* Perform other duties as assigned by the District Director of Business
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
* Ability to take initiative to solve problems
* Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
* Experience using technology including email, word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation software, and Internet use
* Strong interpersonal skills to interact tactfully and courteously with students, faculty, staff, and the general public.
* Ability to collaborate with others and work as part of a team
* Demonstrate oral and written communication skills to interact with a wide range of diverse individuals.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the Instructor regularly required to do the following:
* Travel between campuses and a flexible schedule is required, including some evenings, weekends, and extended hours to meet department needs
* Stand for long periods
* Talk, hear, view, and assist students
* Communicate with others in person, telephone, zoom, & live chat
* Sit, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms
* Stand, walk, stoop, or kneel
* Occasionally lift and/or move items of at least 15-20 pounds
