Training Instructor / Specialist
Northwest Mississippi Community College’s Workforce Solutions and Career‑Technical Education Division is looking for a pool of part‑time Workforce Trainer(s) to teach Forklift Operations classes on‑site at various manufacturing and distribution centers throughout Desoto County. The candidate should have extensive forklift operation experience, a knowledge of OSHA General Industry Standards for safe operation (29 CFR : Powered industrial trucks), and preferably an OSHA 10‑Hour or 30‑Hour General Industry credential.
The position is part‑time; training hours will vary throughout the year and are contingent on project funding approval from the Mississippi Community College Board. Candidates must have either successfully completed a Forklift Train‑the‑Trainer course or be prepared to complete one prior to starting.
Job Responsibilities- Provide quality, hands‑on, equipment‑specific instruction for any or all of the following forklift types:
Sit Down, Reach, Order Picker, Dock Stocker, Swing Reach. - Maintain a clean and safe training environment.
- Ensure proper safety requirements are taught extensively and supervise all training experiences.
- Check, maintain, and report accurate attendance and absences for each trainee.
- Develop and maintain the progress of each trainee in the program.
- Complete enrollment and follow‑up reports.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by Associate Dean of Workforce Solutions & Manufacturing Programs.
