Responsibilities

  • Conduct performance evaluations, deliver coaching, and support career development for direct reports and the engineering organization.
  • Foster a culture of safety, compliance, and teamwork across all operations.
  • Report staffing performance, issues, and needs to the Product Line Manager to align with organizational goals.
  • Define and execute engineering strategy aligned to business and customer requirements.
  • Design, develop, and optimize battery manufacturing processes, automation, and assembly systems.
  • Develop assembly sequencing, user interfaces, and data collection systems.
  • Lead new product launches, including capital, tooling, and resource planning.
  • Ensure processes meet industrial customer requirements for durability, safety, and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and customers on technical requirements and product reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with quality systems (ISO, APQP, DFMEA) and safety standards.
  • Conduct audits (LPA, EHS, 5S) and implement corrective actions.
  • Work with equipment vendors and manage capital projects, including travel as needed.
  • Maintain project timelines, KPIs, and performance reporting.
  • Drive cost reductions within the area by collaborating with cross‑functional teams.
  • Manage the annual department budget in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Act as an additional site‑level point of contact for customers, vendors, and contractors on technical and operational matters.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of engineering experience with leadership responsibility.
  • Experience in battery systems, electrification, or industrial manufacturing highly preferred.
  • Experience and/or training in the development and maintenance of DFMEAs.
  • Experience with DFMEA, APQP, DFM/DFA, and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Manufacturing and assembly process knowledge preferred.
  • Strong project management and communication skills.
  • Self‑directed and motivated with strong ownership and accountability.
  • Excellent drive for results with the ability to coordinate projects from start to completion.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge & Skills
  • Advanced project management skills.
  • Experience with predictive maintenance, continuous improvement, and reliability engineering around mechanical and electrical critical infrastructure.
  • Experience managing a change control environment.
Salary

$125,600 - $172,700
