Position Overview
At Eclipse Marine, we are committed to delivering an exceptional boating experience to our customers. We are seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Parts Specialist to join our Parts & Service Department. In this critical role you will oversee ordering, receiving, and management of parts and accessories, ensuring timely availability for both internal repair orders and customer needs. Your ability to stay organized, communicate effectively, and manage inventory efficiently will directly support the success of our service operations.
EssentialFunctions
- Order, receive, and distribute parts and accessories for both sales and service operations.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using established bin systems and standard operating procedures.
- Verify part numbers, quantities, and condition of incoming stock; resolve discrepancies with vendors as needed.
- Maintain adequate stock of fast‑moving parts to meet service department needs and prevent workflow delays.
- Accurately complete monthly cycle counts and submit results to the Director of Service and Accounting Manager on schedule.
- Maintain a pending and up‑to‑date file of purchase orders and C.O.D.'s; communicate directly with accounts payable.
- Drive year‑over‑year growth in parts sales by increasing sales volume.
- Achieve and sustain an overall gross profit margin of greater than 44%
- Communicate daily with service advisors and technicians to ensure parts availability for current and upcoming repair orders.
- Maintain relationships with vendors, researching cost, timelines, and availability to meet operational requirements.
- Process warranty parts, claims, and returns, ensuring proper credit is received.
- Manage SLOB (slow, obsolete, and broken) inventory by coordinating returns or write‑offs with vendors.
- Keep work areas, storage locations, and parts bins clean, organized, and safe.
- Coordinate with Sales and Service teams to develop parts estimates, communicate lead times, and proactively manage customer expectations regarding parts availability and delivery schedules.
- Support occasional promotional events or boat shows with parts‑related needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the success of the department and dealership.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Ability to learn and navigate inventory and dealer management software.
- Prior experience managing complex inventories with multiple supply chains.
- Commitment to providing exceptional internal and external customer service.
- Experience in the marine, automotive, or powersports industries.
- Basic boating and marine terminology knowledge.
- Familiarity with Lightspeed or similar dealer management systems.
- Vendor relationship management experience.
This position may require local travel between business locations, as well as occasional travel for meetings, training, boat shows, or other company events as needed.
Working Conditions- Primarily indoor work in a dealership or service department environment.
- Regular use of computer systems and handheld devices.
- Moves items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Remains stationary for extended periods of time.
- Moves freely about the dealership to transport inventory and assist customers.
- Positions self to access, organize, and retrieve inventory or materials, which may involve reaching, bending, or adjusting position.
The anticipated pay range for this position is $37,000–$52,000 annually. In addition to base pay, the position is eligible for commissions tied to the performance of the Parts department, along with monthly and annual bonus opportunities.
